Procrastination – tip #1

OK, I lied. There is no tip, just an admission:

Here I am writing a blog post when I should be:

  1. Working on the draft of my next book.
  2. Reading the first chapter of a friend’s new YA manuscript.
  3. Mailing my nephew’s long-overdue birthday present.
  4. Doing my taxes.
  5. All of the above…and more!

Instead, I offer you a selection of photos from our trip home from Saskatoon:

Alright, alright, you want a tip?

Try using Trello to keep track of all the things you should be doing.

Update: Nephew’s present mailed, chapter read, and some small progress on my book! Taxes – gah – that can wait until another day!

Saw the title and thought: I don’t need any help with procrastination! 🙂 Here I am playing with my new spinning wheel when there are other things to do as proof. Still, I liked your honesty and your photos. Cheers!

Procrastination? I’ll bet “writing a blog post” was also on your to-do list. So you could cross something off.
The photos were great, from Saskatchewan to BC–snowplows, bear bridges, flatflatflat, and snowy mountains in a nearly monochromatic scene. I’m from the prairies, so I was close to homesick viewing some of the pictures. Glad you made it through safely, too.
PS Maybe the title of your post was about the first tip in HOW TO procrastinate?

You caught me out! Writing a blog post was on the list too. But it did feel good to finally download all those photos and pick out a few of the better ones to share.

More great pictures! I like how you procrastinate too – seems like time well spent to me!

    • Jenny says:

Thanks Kathy! I think you’re right – it was time well spent, because I did get the other stuff done too, although not the taxes yet… sigh.

  4. Cathy says:

procrastination= reading a blog post found on Facebook!
Oh dear….back to pomodoros and task lists…

Nephew says “yay Aunty Jenny posted my pressie”!!! 🙂 Cool photos though. Looks like amazing scenery on your road trip! I’m just off to make school lunches….after I’ve read my important Facebook messages that is!

    • Jenny says:

Say Hi to nephew and tell him I’m REALLY sorry it’s so late! Glad you liked the pictures – we took so many, it was hard to choose which ones to post. Catching up on Facebook is very important, but perhaps school lunches… a little bit more so?

Wow. Those photo’s belong in a magazine!
Procrastination? So nice to know I/we are not alone. For instance, I’d much rather be enjoying your blog than… ahem. Your ‘done’ list is inspiring 🙂

    • Jenny says:

You’re too kind Pauline! We shot most of those photos through the car window, which is more difficult than you’d think – lots of wipering to try to keep the windscreen clear enough for the camera to focus! But the real trick is to shoot hundreds of pictures and keep your fingers crossed that some of them will turn out okay.

Maybe I’ll have to blog more often – I did seem to get a bunch of things done as a result of it!
